Dr. Peter Breggin is the Executive Director of the Center for the Study of Psychiatry located in Bethesda, Maryland. The Center was founded in 1971 as a nonprofit research and educational network concerned with the impact of psychiatry upon individual well-being, personal freedom, and family and community values.

Dr. Breggin has found a whole field of mental health professionals--the counseling departments and counselors--who still embrace a wellness model. He is now part of the faculty of the counseling department at The Johns Hopkins University and is delighted to find some local professionals and academics who are like minded.
